Preparation for camp- Part 1: What to bring to the camping trip?

Hi all,

This whole week we'll be posting up a whole series of posts on the camp so that we could help you prepare for THE CAMPING TRIP OF THE YEAR!!!!

The first post of the week would be on the things to bring for the camp. We'll tell you one by one on what to bring and what to prepare.

So here goes...

1. DRINKING WATER

So drinking water is of course important. But please take note do not take too much water with you.

We would suggest that you bring only one big bottle of water during the hike in case you would like to quench your thirst during the hike. If you bring too much water, it would be a big burden for you during the hike.

So you must be wondering what if the water finishes? Do not worry coz we have the nature there for us. We'll be drinking from the natural springs available of course on the hill. Please do put aside your fear of the hygiene coz we could assure you the waters are really clean.

2. FOOD

Unless you wanna hunt or catch from the hill, don't bring anything at all. Haha~ The above pics are the food that we would suggest you to bring. Its light and easy to bring around.

If you have any cooking utensils meant for camping, please do bring it. =)

3. Clothes

Please bring enough clothes for two days and one night.

Note: The above picture is for reference only. Do not take it seriously. Of course you do not need to bring wigs and fishing pole. -_- Haha~

4. Raincoat/ Umbrella

In case of rain.

Of course we do not hope for rain. So do remember to pray for good weather on that day.

5. Sleeping bag

This is only optional. If you have one, please bring it to for the sleep over on top of the hill.

6. Cleaning stuff like soap, toothpaste and tooth brush

Unless you don't plan to stay clean on the campsite.

7. Tent

Which is optional as well. You can actually rent it from the people there for RM40 for four person.

8. Torchlight

We need to have light at night, don't we? But fret not, this is not optional. If you do have one, Its ok.

9. Towel

Yeap, those are the nine things that are very important for the camping trip. All you need to do is to bring the above nine and all is done. If you wanna bring anything extra, as long as you can carry it up to the hill, we wouldn't stop you from bringing.

Oh, do not forget to bring a TURKEY...lol~ stupid inside joke.

So do stay tuned for the next post which is approximately posted up later or tomorrow.

If you are a student, please bring along your student ID/pass so that you can benefit for student's price. Note: We will have to pay a deposit for cleanliness of RM10 per person. This will be included in the RM50 as well.

Everything else for the camp will not be provided. 健康从你开始 Health Begins With You

Hello all,

This blog is basically an activity blog. About the ups and downs of our youth fellowship and all the activities that we had during the fellowship. We hope that through this blog we could build a community to tell people about our youth fellowship. So hope you'll like the blog.

To start off with the launch of our blog, here's a new post of the latest fellowship that we had.

Last Friday (9/4/10) we had a mini competition between the three cell groups of the fellowship. This competition's theme was Health Begins With You. Each group was to prepare a healthy dish of their own choice to compete with the other two groups.

What do you think of the competing food?

The judges were trying and evaluating the food. The judges were Uncle Mok and 陈传道.

The girls/ladies were all pretty excited about the judging. Look...all exciting laughter.

The guys are as usual...standing and looking. LOL~

So after all evaluating, here are the results for the Health Begins With You, healthy food competition:

So 3rd place was won by Group 1, 传播主 which was led by Su Pheen. Group members were: Sheerin, 丽洹, Gilbert, Kelvin, Jack and Chai Ying.

Their dish was a bread roll with lettuce and tuna spread.

Note the shapes circle with red in the picture. Its actually made from potatoes and totally edible. Both shapes carved by Jack =)

In 2nd place was Group 3, 马提亚. Group leader was Tze Khan and the members involved were Dorcas, Cindy, 玉菁, Chelse, William and 向辉.

This dish was named healthy breakfast which includes a piece of bread, hash brown, egg salad, some cucumber, a piece of grape and broccoli surrounding.

The judges said that this was the best tasting dish but it was not healthy enough to be in the no. 1 spot.

The winner was Group 2's fruit/veggie skewer. The judges said that they won it coz it was all veggies and fruits which fitted the theme more. Congratulations to group 2.

BTW, Group 2, 以马内利 was led by Jennifer with the help of Nansie, Wei Yon, Siew Tin, Ren Hui and Michelle.

It was a fun night and I think everyone had fun. We ended the night with eating the fruit of our labor and chatting among ourselves at the church's lobby. =)

Next week, we'll be having bible study in our Youth Fellowship. As of usual, we'll be studying Philippians. Hope to see you guys there.

Please continue to pray for our fellowship where ever you all are.

God bless and lots of love.

GPMelaka Youth Fellowship.
